Rohingya girl disappeared with policeman

In Noakhali, a Rohingya girl has been missing for seven days after evading police at the hospital. This incident occurred on Thursday, September 12, around 3 PM at the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital's Rohingya unit. The missing girl is named Khatija Munni (15). She is the daughter of Abul Kalam from Cluster 12 of the Bhashan Char Rohingya camp. Multiple sources indicate that police constable Riazur Rashid, also known as Nayan (27), was stationed at Bhashan Char police station. During this time, a romantic relationship developed between him and the girl Khatija from the Rohingya camp. Their relationship continued for a long time over mobile phone communication.

There are allegations that Constable Nayan was involved in immoral relationships with women while on duty at Bhashan Char, in addition to being intoxicated from consuming alcohol and marijuana. About a month ago, Nayan was transferred from Bhashan Char police station to Noakhali police lines. Since last Thursday, Nayan has been absent from the roll call at Noakhali police lines. Dr. Masum Iftikhar, the Civil Surgeon of Noakhali district, stated that he was informed by the hospital about a Rohingya girl who had escaped from the 250-bed Rohingya unit at Noakhali General Hospital. Our job is to provide medical care. It is the police's responsibility to locate her. The matter has been reported to the police by the district health department. Noakhali's Superintendent of Police Mohammad Asaduzzaman said, "I have heard about the matter. However, no one from the family of the missing Rohingya girl has filed a complaint. It is true that a police member is absent. He has been removed from Bhashan Char police station due to indiscipline and negligence of duty."
